Manchu Vishnu is currently busy with his dream project, Kannappa. The actor is portraying the role of the devotee of Lord Shiva. The first look poster and other promotional material that has come so far has been impressive. Now, there is an interesting development surrounding the film as Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar joins the cast.
Earlier, the team roped in Kannada superstar Dr. Shivaraj Kumar for a pivotal role in the film. However, the latest developments reveal that he is no more a part of the film. Akshay Kumar reportedly stepped in as a replacement for Shivaraj Kumar in the prestigious project.
The details of the character that Akshay will play in the film have been kept under wraps currently. The film already boasts ensemble cast including Manchu Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Mukesh Rushi, Madhoo, and others. Prabhas reportedly plays Lord Siva in the film.
The film is being helmed by the director who previously directed the Mahabharat series for Star Plus. The film is bankrolled by Manchu Vishnu himself.
