‘Rohith Vemula is not a Dalit’, Police Closed Case

Cyberabad Police have filed a closure report in the case of Rohith Vemula, a University of Hyderabad student who died by suicide in 2016. They claim Vemula was aware of his non-Scheduled Caste status and feared his true identity would be discovered. The report states no evidence was found that Vemula died by suicide due to harassment for being a Dalit.
