On June 2, a stationary freight train at Sirhind railway station in Fatehgarh Sahib was hit from behind by another goods train, injuring loco pilots Vikas Kumar and Himanshu Kumar. The collision caused an engine to derail and hit a passenger train. Both pilots were referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for further treatment.
