Heatwave Claims 192 Homeless Lives in Delhi

In a devastating report, a Delhi-based NGO revealed that 192 homeless people died in the capital city during the heatwave from June 11-19. The extreme heat conditions, exacerbated by factors like air pollution and lack of access to shelter and water, proved fatal for the city’s most vulnerable population. Authorities have been urged to establish cooling centers, increase shelter capacity, and provide essential services to protect the homeless from the deadly impacts of climate change.
