Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu made India proud by winning the silver medal in the 48kg category the other day, in Tokyo Olympics. Mirabai became the second Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in the weightlifting sport.
After her victory, Mirabai spoke to NDTV in an exclusive interview. When she was asked about how is she planning to celebrate the victory, Mirabai said that she wants to eat a pizza first. As it has been a long time since she had pizza, Mirabai said that she want to eat a lot on the night of her success.
Quoting her statement, popular pizza chain Domino’s India offered free pizza for Chanu for lifetime. “@Mirabai_chanu. Congratulations on bringing the medal home!You brought the dreams of a billion+ Indians to life and we couldn’t be happier to treat you to FREE Domino’s pizza for life. Congratulations Again.”
On top of that, Domino’s staff of Imphal went to Mirabai’s house last night and offered her family with free pizzas as a celebratory token for her win.
Until now, India’s only medal in this Olympic tally is won by Mirabai. The billion hearts are waiting for players to get a few more medals in the coming days.
