Tai Tzu-Ying Defeats PV Sindhu In Semi-Finals

Star Badminton player PV Sindhu is one of the strong contenders among the Indian contingent in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu stormed into the semi-finals without losing a single game in this tournament. In the Women’s singles badminton semi-final, Sindhu played against Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu-Ying and lost the match.

Sindhu played multiple drop shots and repeated the same mistakes again and again. In this game, Sindhu lost both the first and second sets to Tai Tzu-Ying. Tai Tzu Ying takes the 1st game 21-18 against Sindhu. She also took the second set by 21-12.

Since Sindhu reached the semi-finals, she will have a chance to play a bronze medal match. If she wins it, Sindhu will certainly bring Bronze Medal home. She will play Hebingjiao of China in the bronze medal match tomorrow.

Sindhu earlier defeated Ksenia Polikarpova with 21-7, 21-10 in her first match. In her second game, Sindhu defeated Cheung Ngan with Yi 21-9, 21-16. Later, she defeated Mia Blichfeldt with 21-15, 21-13 in the pre-quarterfinals. In the quarter-finals, Sindhu tasted a victory against Akane Yamaguchi with 21-13, 21-20.

PV Sindhu is the first Indian to become the Badminton World Champion and the first Indian woman to earn an Olympic silver medal in 2016.
