Indian star wrestler Bajrang Punia bagged a bronze medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics in men’s 65kg wrestling event. Bajrang beat the reigning World Silver medalist Daulet Niyazbekov with 8-0. Its the 6th medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics.
On Saturday, it was a completely dominating performance from Bajrang Punia in his bronze medal bout. Bajrang was impressive with his aggression as well as defense. He did not give any room to the opponent Niyazbekov who could not help but surrender to Punia’s strategies.
Bajrang Punia was India’s big bet at the Tokyo Olympics. Bajrang Punia is the only Indian wrestler to win 3 medals at the World Wrestling Championships.
On the other hand, India lost another Bronze medal this morning by a whisker in Golf. Aditi Ashok missed a podium finish by a whisker and ended up in the fourth position. She finished 15 under-par on the final day and remained just a stroke behind World No. 11 Lydia Ko, who tied with Japan’s Inami Mone with 16 under-par.
