The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL) was bought to an abrupt halt earlier this year after several players and support staff had contracted Covid.
Recently, BCCI announced that the remainder of this year’s IPL season has been moved to the UAE. The rest of the matches will be played in UAE venues and the much-awaited phase 2 will be commencing on 19th September. However, several players won’t be available for IPL 2021 Phase 2.
Here is the list of players who won’t be available for the second phase of IPL 2021 and the reasons why.

Jofra Archer – Rajasthan Royals – Elbow injury
Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson – RCB – National duty
Riley Meredith – Punjab Kings – Injury
Daniel Sams – RCB – Focusing on mental health
Jhy Richardson – Punjab Kings – Undisclosed reason
Finn Allen – RCB – National duty
Jos Buttler – Rajasthan Royals – Family reasons
Ben Stokes – Rajasthan Royals – Personal reasons
Meanwhile, many of Chennai Super Kings players and support staff have already landed in the UAE as they kickstart preparations for the forthcoming season.
The second phase to will commence on 19th September and the final match will be played on 15th October. The opening match in the second season will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
