Second Gold For India At Paralympics

Published by

India is having a dream run at the Tokyo Paralympics. After Avani Lekhara, Sumit Antil has won a Gold medal. Sumit displayed a record breaking performance in Javelin throw with 68.55 metres and that’s how he clinched the Gold medal.

This is India’s second Gold in the current Paralympics and it has now turned out to be the best Paralympics for India ever. Congratulations and praiseworthy words are pouring down for the champion Sumit Antil.

“The World Record has been broken ! India has won another GOLD MEDAL! Sumit Antil congratulations on a splendid at #Tokyo2020 #Paralympics,” tweeted Union Sports minister Anurag Thakur.

However in a disappointing news Vinod Malik who won Bronze in discus lost the medal due to some technical issues. Medical category observation in competition, reclassification is continual and irrefutable process in Paralympics and that’s how Vinod Malik won Bronze. But the effort of Vinod is commendable. India is at 26th place in the medal’s tally with a total of 7 medals so far.
