Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar has been ruled out of IPL 2021 due to an injury. Arjun is representing Mumbai Indians in the league. The youngster will be replaced by right-arm medium pacer Simarjeet Singh.
“Mumbai Indians have added Simarjeet Singh as an injury replacement to Arjun Tendulkar for the remainder of their IPL 2021 season,” stated Mumbai Indians in an official press note.
“The right-arm medium-fast bowler has started training with the team after completing the mandatory quarantine as per IPL guidelines,” the note further read.
Mumbai Indians bought Arjun for a base price of Rs. 20 lakhs in the auction that was held earlier this year. However, he didn’t feature in the playing XI until now. The left-arm bowler made his debut for Mumbai’s T20 team in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Meanwhile, Arjun’s replacement Simarjeet recently travelled with team India for the Sri Lanka tour. He was a net bowler in that series.
Currently, Mumbai Indians are in the fifth position of the points table with five wins of their 11 games.
