The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is working extensively on the next coach for team India. Ravi Shastri and his team’s tenure will end with the T20 World Cup and the BCCI is in a rush to select a new coach. Recently reports came out that former cricketer Rahul Dravid is finalised for the coach role but the BCCI did not announce it officially.
However, before appointing Rahul Dravid as coach for team India, the BCCI needs to hire the head for the National Cricket Academy (NCA) which is the main centre for cricket operations in India. Rahul Dravid is the current head of NCA and he will be leaving the academy once he takes over as team India coach.
So the BCCI has reportedly approached former cricketer VVS Laxman for the head of NCA. But the Hyderabadi stylish batsman reportedly declined the offer due to unknown reasons. Laxman is currently mentoring SunRisers Hyderabad team and he is also a commentator for all the bilateral series India plays.
With Laxman refusing the NCA job, the BCCI has invited applications for the same role through an official press release. According to the sources, the BCCI is looking for an experienced person preferably cricketer to lead the NCA.
