After ending their journey in the T20 World Cup, Team India will take no rest as it soon has a bilateral series against New Zealand. This series will be held in India and consists of 3 T20I matches and 2 Tests. The BCCI selection committee has picked up the 16-member squad for the T20I series tonight.
It is already known that Virat Kohli has relieved his T20I captaincy and Ravi Shastri ended his tenure as the head coach. Rohit Sharma has been officially announced as the T20I captain and KL Rahul will be his deputy. Kohli, along with Jadeja, Shami and Bumrah, has been rested for this series. Hardik Pandya, who failed to perform well in the T20 World Cup, was dropped.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj are back on the side. Youngsters who shined in the IPL, like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan were picked as well. The entire squad is as below:
