It has been just a couple of weeks since New Zealand gave heartbreak to millions of Indians by defeating India in the T20 World Cup’s league stage. Just three nights ago, the Kiwis witnessed a heartbreak by losing to Australia in the final of the T20 World Cup.
Both India and New Zealand are yet to recover from their heartbreaks but are set to take on each other tonight. The bilateral series of these two teams is going to start tonight, with the first T20I match happening in Jaipur.
New Zealand will play 3 T20Is and 2 Tests in this series. While the first T20I will be played tonight, the second and third T20 matches will be held on Friday (November 19) and Sunday (November 21).
Rohit Sharma will be taking charge as the new T20I captain with this match. It will also be Rahul Dravid’s first game as a full-time head coach. Virat Kohli will miss out on this T20 series will be back for the second test match.
On the flip side, New Zealand’s skipper Kane Williamson will also skip the T20 series, in order to focus on the Test series. Tim Southee will lead the team in his absence.
The experts opined that there will be a dew factor in the game and thus, the team winning the toss may choose to bowl first. It is being predicted that the match is going to be a high-scoring game. The match starts at 7 PM IST.
