This year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to be bigger than ever with the addition of two new teams. With two teams joining, a mega auction will take place in February and a total of 1214 players (896 Indian and 318 overseas players) will be part of the auction.
Earlier in December, the existing eight teams retained 33 players and key players like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Rashid Khan, Shubham Gill and a few more got a place in Lucknow and Ahmedabad teams.
In a big development Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be the captain of Ahmedabad IPL team while KL Rahul is the captain of Lucknow team and with this he has emerged as the most valuable player. And in a bad news to Hyderabad SunRisers, spinner Rashid Khan joined the Ahmedabad team.
The IPL Governing Council is yet to finalize the dates of the mega auction and from reliable sources we hear that it will be a two days event. Also the governing council will take a call on hosting the tournament in the country given the pandemic influence. South Africa is the alternative choice currently available.
