SRH Management Lands In Another Controversy

Several doubts were raised on the attitude of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s management when they axed David Warner as the captain and eventually removed him from the team. Fans couldn’t digest the fact that the franchise didn’t even respect the loyal services given by Warner over the years.

Once again, the SRH management is in the news for all the wrong reasons. Former Australian cricketer Simon Katich, who was appointed as the assistant coach of the team, has quit the support staff even before the tournament has started.

Katich decided to quit the team after a disagreement on how the team was being managed. In an interview with The Australian, he also felt that the management has disregarded the pre-auction plans.

The mega auction was held on the 12th and 13th of this month. Going by Katich’s statements, it looks like SRH management didn’t stick to the pre-auction plan at all.

Not more than two months ago, Sunrisers appointed Simon Katich as the assistant coach of the team. Tom Moody was re-appointed as the head coach, Brian Lara was roped in as the batting coach and Dale Steyn was signed up as the bowling coach. Muttiah Muralidharan continues to be the mentor.

With Katich’s exit, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s management landed in another controversy. Until now, the franchise hasn’t released any official statement on Katich’s exit. It has to be seen if the owners prefer responding to Katich’s allegations.
