It’s been a Hitman show all the way in Delhi tonight. Indian captain Rohit Sharma slaughtered Afghanistan’s bowling attack and set a platform for his team’s victory. While chasing a target of 273, Rohit started attacking the Afghan bowlers right from the beginning and scored a brisk century in just 63 balls.
Rohit’s early onslaught severely compromised Afghanistan’s prospects early in the chase. His partner in the opening, Ishan Kishan, provided substantial support, and together, they compiled an impressive 156-run partnership for the first wicket. Following Kishan’s departure, Rohit continued to scorch the field alongside Virat Kohli. It wasn’t until the 26th over when Rashid Khan finally managed to dismiss him. By that point, India had firmly established a favourable position to reach their target.
