1.6 Cr Bill: No Power Supply To Uppal Stadium Before IPL Match

Published by

In an embarrassing piece of news, the latest news reports are suggesting that the power supply has been cut off for the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad a day before SRH’s match against Chennai Super Kinds.

Reportedly, the Hyderabad Cricket Association hasn’t cleared the power bill amounting to Rs 1.6 crore to DISCOM which has been pending for the last 7 years. A notice was sent by DISCOM this February but there was no response from the HCA.

The power supply agency got agitated by the lackluster attitude of the HCA and has cut off the power supply to the stadium today. The shocking timing of the power cut is such that it is coming right before the profile match between SRH and CSK.

The game has been put in jeopardy with this incident and it remains to be seen how HCA will bring back the power supply to the stadium with just hours left in their hand before the game starts tomorrow night.
