Indians woke up today on a disappointing note. Team India is crumbling under pressure in the highly crucial third test match against Australia, which is being held at the iconic Gabba Stadium in Brisbane. Australia made a total of 445 runs in the first innings, credited to the brilliant tons by Travis Head (152) and Steve Smith (101). In the end, Alex Carey’s (70) blistering innings gave the Aussies a massive score. Apart from Bumrah, no other Indian bowler managed to do well on this pitch.
After getting Australia all-out earlier today, India started its innings and faced a major blow right on the second ball of the innings as Mitchell Starc got Yashasvi Jaiswal’s wicket. In his next over, Starc sent Shubman Gill back to the pavilion. When Virat Kohli was trying to settle in the crease, Josh Hazlewood got his wicket. When India was 22/3, Rishab Pant came into the crease.
There were high hopes on Pant considering his previous heroics at Gabba. However, the Aussie captain Pat Cummins got Pant out and threw India into deep trouble. Currently, India is batting at 48/4 with KL Rahul (30*) and Rohit Sharma (0) in the crease. Considering Rohit’s poor form, the Indians believe that another wicket will be lost soon.
Going by the current situation, India is on the brink of another humiliating defeat. Only a miraculous performance from Indian batters would save the team now.
