The contribution of the Telugu land for the Indian cricketing culture has been on a meteoric rise in the recent past with the uprise of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Tilak Varma. These two have quickly become integral members of the Indian cricketing squad and they are being seen as the future of Indian cricket now.
Adding to this excitement, the Telugu land is now on the verge of producing a female star cricketer in the making in the form of Trisha Gongadi.
Trisha is a part of the Indian under 19 side that is playing in the T20 World Cup that is underway now. She is an opening batter and is highly rated for her exceptional ball striking and aggressive intent.
The female cricketer was born in Bhadrachalam of Andhra Pradesh and later moved to Hyderabad at the age of seven. She was included in the squad for the Indian under 19 side that was sent to take part in the T20 World Cup.
She created history in the super six match against Scotland today by becoming the first bat to score a century in the tournament this year.
Trisha is already starting to make a name for herself in the international cricketing scene with this performance in the under 19 World Cup. If she can continue this momentum and find a place in the senior squad, then she would be the next big exponent in Indian cricket from the Telugu land.
After the meteoric rise of Nitish Reddy and Tilak Varma, it is good to see a female cricketer showing great promise and the fighting spirit.
