Tata Indian Premier League 2025 edition will kick-start on March 22nd, 2025. The biggest cricketing entertainment will have 74 matches this season. Since the mega auction happened this time, the permutations and combinations about the winner will completely change.
As the first match starts on the 22nd of March, the final match is expected to get completed on May 25th, 2025. The BCCI has finalized that the tournament will take place across 13 venues and will include 12 double-headers.
There is no change in the timing. The the afternoon games will begin at 03.30 PM IST, the evening games will begin from 07.30 PM IST.
The first match is scheduled to take place between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, 2025.
The first of the 12 double-headers day will take place on March 23, 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play their first match in the tournament against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on the same day.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play their respective first match of the season when they take on each other in Visakhapatnam on March 24, 2025.
Three of the ten IPL teams will play at 2 venues each. However, DC will play their home games in Visakhapatnam and at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
The Playoffs will be played across Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on May 20, 2025 and May 21, 2025 respectively. The final will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
