In match 2 of the current edition of Indian Premier League, Sun Risers Hyderabad registered an easy victory against Rajasthan Royals. SRH won their first game by 44 Runs.
Toss:
RR won the toss and elected to bowl first
First Innings:
SRH put a total of 286 on board in 20 overs, with hitters Ishan Kishan, Travis Head, Henrich Klaseen and Nitish contributing the majority. RR bowlers had a hard time in sending the in-form SRH batters back to pavilion. A few dropped catches also done the damage for them. However, team RR faced many fumbles in the chase. With Hyderabad being the home ground for SRH, the team was able to easily put a big score on the board. However, Sanju Samson’s leadership absence is clearly visible, which kept team RR away from the victory.
Second Innings:
While batting second, team RR lost quick wickets in the chase. However, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel built a partnership for the fourth wicket. But, both were dismissed back to back. Sanju Samson scored 66 runs off 37 deliveries while Dhruv Jurel scored 70 runs off 35 balls. Sanju entered the field as an impact player. In the end, they scored 242 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Subham Dubey tried to improve the NRR by scoring 34 off 11 deliveries and Hetmyer also scored 42 off 23 balls.
In a Nutshell:
Although RR struggled in the run chase, SRH displayed clear dominance in batting. RR need to improve their strengths from multiple departments. Team SRH must improve their bowling efforts. Including Pat Cummins, all SRH bowlers turned out to be expensive in giving away the runs, while defending a big target. Additionally, Shami, Ishan and Zampa faced injuries which could turn worrisome for the team.
