There were not one but too highly interesting IPL matches yesterday in the form of the earlier game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals followed by the second game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. In particular, the second game carries a lot of significance as it marks the coming together of two IPL powerhouses.
Needless to say this clash between Mumbai and Chennai is famously termed as the El Classico of IPL. When the schedule was announced, everyone was excited to see the season open with this high profile clash between two champion sides.
But as it turned out, this crucial encounter between the two sides ended up as a boring fest. After being put to Mumbai stuttered their way to 155. The singing was very boring to watch without much power hitting. This was again followed by another Slappy show from Chennai, who reached this modest score in the very last over.
Even fans of Dhoni, who desperately wanted to see him bat couldn’t get much entertainment. He got out to bat in the 19th over, only to play two for balls. In the end, Chennai closed out the match with a comfortable win, but the proceedings were very boring and uninteresting.
Comparatively the earlier clash between Hyderabad and Rajasthan was far more entertaining with over 520 runs scored in this encounter.
