The Indian Premier League is a global platform for domestic players to showcase their impeccable stills on the biggest platform in league cricket. This is a platform where history is created and lives are changed.
Once such story belongs to that of Ashutosh Sharma, who played for Punjab Kings last year and had a great campaign. But interestingly, enough, despite the heroic in the earlier season, Ashutosh was sold for a modest price of ₹3.8 crore to Delhi this year.
And just when everyone thought Ashutosh might be a one season, wonder he came back firing in the first match for Delhi in the IPL this year.
All of social media is now buzzing with this heroic knock delivered by Ashutosh Sharma in the game between Delhi and Lucknow last night. Needless to say, he was absolutely belligerent with the bat and played a remarkable innings to secure what appeared to be an unlikely win for Delhi.
Ashutosh came out to bat when Delhi was nearly down and out in the game, while getting confined to 65-5. At one point, he was on 20 runs from 20 balls, and the game looked pretty much sealed for Lucknow.
But this was when some unreal acceleration happened. Ashutosh Sharma went from 20 runs off 20 balls to 66 runs of 31 balls. From the last 11 walls that he played, he secured a shocking 46 runs and ended up winning the game for Delhi from an unlikely position. He really is the hero of the game last night and deserves all the applause that he is getting on social media.
Who knows, if he continues heroic form, Ashutosh very well, be playing for the Indian national T20 team in the near future. He has this skill and composer at the highest level to make it happen.
