DC vs LSG: DC’s Victory In Unbelivable Nail-biting finish in Vizag!

In match 4 of the current edition of the Indian Premier League, Delhi Capitals registered their first thumping victory against Lucknow Supergiants. The game took place in Visakhapatnam, and DC won by one wicket (3 balls left).

Toss: Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first.

First Innings: Delhi Capitals confidently decided to bowl first but failed to restrict the LSG batters. Axar Patel struggled with both the ball and the captaincy responsibilities. DC’s bowling attack was so poor that seven bowlers were brought forward to complete 20 overs. Mitchell Starc took three wickets, but he is expensive. Altogether, LSG scored 209 for eight wickets lost in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh (72) and Nicholas Pooran (75) scored half-centuries and brutally attacked the DC bowlers.

Second Innings: From the first over itself, Delhi Capitals struggled with the bat. The star hitters of the team, McGurk, Abhishek Porel, and Sameer Rizvi, departed for single digits. Faf Duplessis tried to build a partnership but could not find the right one. At one time, the team scored seven runs for losing three wickets. But, the middle-order tried to push the run rate further. Vipraj Nigam looked like a match-winner for the team, but unfortunately, he got out after a superb knock of 39 (15). The impact player Ashutosh made a big difference. He scored an unbelievable knock under huge pressure and scored 66* off 31 balls.

In a Nutshell: The pitch in Visakhapatnam helps both batters and bowlers equally. The team that played first scored over 200 runs. LSG batters are in good form. Rishab Pant scored a duck and faces the pressure of being the costliest player of the season. Captain Axar Patel looked struggling and was unable to execute the plans well. LSG dominated the game initially, but Ashutosh ultimately snatched it from them. With a six in the end, he remained the biggest match-winner. Even with victory, DC must focus on the form of star players.
