Toss: Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first.
First Innings:
It is a complete failure of the KKR batsmen. Star hitters like Narine, Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh and others departed for a single digit. Only Abhivanshi tried to stand but he was also out at 26. He was the only big scorer of the team. Altogether, KKR made 116 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. MI bowler Ashwani Kumar impressed by taking four wickets. The rest of the bowlers also displayed outstanding form.
Second Innings:
Since it was an easy chase, Rickelton put an aggressive play against the MI bowlers by scoring a half-century. None of the KKR bowlers left an impact. MI chased the low target 116 in just 12.5 overs.
In a nutshell:
Mumbai Indians is facing sharp criticism for not registering a victory yet this season. The team used to be always on the top of the table but unfortunately, they are at the bottom. With this victory, they will send an indication that they are in the game. If the bowlers and batsmen can continue the same form, MI can still be the title favourites. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders are struggling with consistency. They lost their first game, lost their second and then lost the third game now. Their star batsmen need to pick up the form and the bowlers also must up their game to stand tall in the tournament.
Scorecard:
KKR: 116/10 (16.2)
MI: 121/2 (12.5)
