In the 17th game of the Indian Premier League, Delhi Capitals tasted a victory against Chennai Super Kings. DC won the game by 25 runs.
Toss:
DC won the toss and decided to bat first.
First Innings:
Cleverly, DC took the batting first and scored 183 runs in Chennai. The team played with a clever strategy. Although McGruk departed for a duck, KL Rahul scored a 77-run knock. It was a delight watching him play some big shots. Abishek Porel, Axar Patel, Sameer Rizvi, and Stubbs played cameos in pushing the score to 183 runs. They scored 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. CSK bowling was not up to the mark, but they tried their best to restrict the DC batsmen.
Second Innings:
Chennai Super Kings came to bat with huge confidence. Chasing 183 looked easy only, but the batters could not withstand DC’s strong bowling lineup. Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad departed for a single digit. Vijay Shankar stayed for the majority of time in the middle and even scored a half-century but failed to put the required runs on the cards. Even Jaedja and Dube failed, giving way to Dhoni to take charge. But Dhoni played the disappointing innings. Finally, CSK lost in the chase.
In a nutshell:
The Chennai Super Kings need a revamp. They must examine what works best for them. CSK is failing continuously, and this will be their third straight loss. Neither Dhoni’s input nor Gaikwad’s captaincy is helping the team. Dhoni had the chance to win the game. He came to bat at a crucial juncture, but he failed miserably and ruined the chances of victory with his slow game. This can be termed the most disastrous season for the franchise so far. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals look super strong to climb up the table. They scored the third straight win in this game. They have already become the title favorites.
Scorecard:
DC: 183/6 (20)
CSK: 158/5 (20)
