Sunrisers Hyderabad went from being one of the most consistent teams of 2024 season of IPL to one of the most unpredictable and depleted teams in the ongoing 2025 season. In the first five games that SRH has played this year, they ended up losing four and all four of them happy to be comprehensive defeats.
In the game against Gujarat Titans, last night, Hyderabad was particularly poor with the bat in the first innings. The team huffed and puffed to 152 and that too thanks to some good hitting from Cummins in the last over(17 runs).
However, Hyderabad managed to start the second innings in a pretty impressive manner by confining Gujarat to 16-2 in the first four overs. However, resilient Shubman Gill lead his team to a comfortable victory in the end.
The most painful thing for Hyderabad fans is that former SRH boys Mohammed Siraj and Washington Sundar, who barely performed for the team while they were nurtured here, came to break the back of SRH in the game last night.
Siraj picked up four wickets and conceded just 17 runs in his four overs. Washington Sundar was brilliant with the bat as he scored 48 runs with a strike rate of over 190. Both of them were previously with SRH before eventually arriving at Gujarat.
