PM Modi To Grace Ind-Eng Test Match?

India and Australia teams have given ultimate entertainment to the cricket fans in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that was held in Australia. Now, India is gearing up for their upcoming series with England. The two teams will play a 4-match Test series in India. The series will mark the beginning of the International cricket tournament in India again after the COVID-19 lockdown. There are reports that BCCI is planning to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the third Test match that will be held in Ahmedabad.

The third Test of the India vs England is scheduled to be held at Ahmedabad’s Motera stadium. The stadium was revamped recently and it is currently the world’s largest cricket stadium in terms of seating. BCCI is hopeful that PM Modi will attend the Test match as the special guest. Along with PM Modi, the cricket board is also planning to invite home minister Amit Shah and sports minister Kiran Rijiju.

The Motera stadium has the capacity to host 1,10,000 people at the venue but now, the officials will only allow 50 percent crowd to witness the match. Since the restrictions in cinema theatres have been relaxed, the BCCI members might also reconsider their decision to lift the restrictions on the number of spectators.

The first two test matches will take place in Chennai. The third test match will take place from February 24th to February 28th in Ahmedabad.
