Days after Indian cricketer Krunal Pandya testing positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka, two more Indian cricketers Yuzvendra Chahal and Krishnappa Gowtham tested positive in Colombo on Friday. Both were already in isolation.
The Indian team will return to India since they played the 3 T20s already. But, Krunal, Chahal, and Gowtham will stay back in Srilanka until they are recovered. According to the rules in Sri Lanka, the three players can return to India only after testing negative. The three will travel back separately after ten days.
Prithvi Shaw, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Deepak Chahar, and Ishan Kishan were also in contact with Kruanal Pandya but they tested negative. They are expected to leave for India today.
Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw will stay back in Colombo a couple more days and will travel to England.
India lost the T20 series to Sri Lanka by 2-1.
