India’s Day 10 At Olympics: Historic Moment Registered!

It’s all about Indian Women’s Hockey team on the tenth day at the Tokyo Olympics. For the first time in history of Olympics, our women’s team reached semi-finals. In other two medal events, Indian players disappointed. However, they impressed with their respective performances. Take a look at different events that took place on the tenth day.

Athletics

In Women’s Athletics 200 meters Round 1, India’s Dutee Chand finishes LAST (7th) in her Heat clocking 23.85s. She was OUT of contention for the Final. She finished 38th overall among the 41 athletes. She clocked 23.85s in her Heat, where she finished last. Dutee’s personal best was 23.00s.

Shooting

In 50m Rifle 3 Pos. Men’s Qualification, Aishwary Pratap Tomar & Sanjeev Rajput were in action. It was the last event for Indian shooters in Tokyo! Both Aishwary Pratap Tomar & Sanjeev Rajput failed to qualify for the Final of the 50m Rifle 3P event. Aishwary finished 21st (397+391+379) and Sanjeev finished 32nd (387+393+377).

Hockey

Indian Women’s Team tasted a victory against Australia with a score of 1-0. For the first time in Olympic history, the Indian Women’s Team is into the semi-finals.

Equestrian

In the event jumping, Fouaad Mirza was qualified for the Final of Jumping (Individual) event by finishing amongst the Top 25 Qualifiers in the 25th position. Fouaad Mirza finished 23rd in Final of Jumping (Individual) event. India had an Olympic entry in Equestrian after 20 yrs. Fouaad did extremely well in the sport.

Athletics

In the Women’s Discus Throw Final, India’s Kamalpreet Kaur missed OUT on a medal but impressed everyone with her performances. Kamalpreet Kaur finished 6th with her best attempt 63.70m.
