Kabul Airport: 1 Water Bottle Rs 3000, Plate Of Rice 7500

Published by

Following the Taliban takeover, the situation at Afghanistan’s capital city, Kabul has turned extremely volatile. Many citizens have been desperately trying to leave the country by one means or another.

Despite recent orders from the Taliban, asking the people of Afghanistan not to try to leave the country, thousands of natives have been thronging the Kabul Airport in an attempt to flee the country. This has led to chaotic situations at the Airport.

Cashing in on the diresome circumstances, a few miscreants are selling essential supplies for abnormally high prices at the Kabul airport. A bottle of water costs $40, which roughly converts to Rs 3000. A plate of rice is being sold for $100, which converts to Rs 7500.

What is more horrifying is that the vendors are not accepting Afghanistan currency and are demanding American dollars if they are to sell the essential products.

Majority of the natives are not able to pay such exorbitant amounts for water and food. Several of them are being found in fainted stage as they haven’t consumed any water or food in days. The plight of Afghans is heart wrenching.
