The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday announced that the ban on fully vaccinated travellers from India and other countries has been lifted. It is effective from September 12, 2021, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The countries included are India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Uganda, which were previously prohibited to enter the UAE. The decision was jointly announced by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and added that travellers must be fully vaccinated residents with World Health Organisation (WHO) approved vaccines only.
To the unversed, the WHO-approved COVID vaccines are -Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Oxford/AstraZeneca, Covishield (Oxford/AstraZeneca formulation), Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
The passengers who are wishing to travel to the UAE must apply via the website of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), and complete the vaccination application. They ought to present the approved vaccination certification upon departure for the UAE.
