Apple Will Let You Fix Your Own iPhone, Here’s When

Published by

Apple is making yet another revolutionary move with its devices and this time, not with any new feature within the devices. Apple is finally letting the device owners repair their own devices.

Starting 2022, Apple will enable iPhone owners to repair their own devices calling it the ‘Self Service Repair’ program. Apple will begin selling parts of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 early next year while the parts for the latest Macs will be coming soon after.

The program will usually enable the most commonly replaced iPhone parts like screens, batteries, and cameras. More components will be made available later next year, as per Apple. This program has been requested for years and it is finally here, but Apple is not recommending the service for everyone.

This program is valid only for the folks who have knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices. ‘For the vast majority of customers who use genuine Apple parts is the safest and most reliable way to get a repair.’ said Apple’s blog post.

The self-repair program will initially launch in the US only and the other countries are expected to launch sometime later next year.
