Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali has recently introduced a herbal product called ‘CORONIL’ and claimed to be the medicine to cure the deadly Covid-19 virus. Patanjali went on to state that they have done clinical trails on some patients and tests have shown positive. And in no time, Patanjali had plans to bring the product to the market.
Immediately after Patanjali’s tall claims, Union Ayush ministry issued a statement that ‘CORONIL’ did not get government approvals and found fault with Baba Ramdev for misleading people.
Now an FIR has been registered against Ramdev, CEO of Patanjali Acharya Balakrishna, Patanjali employee Anurag Varshney, National Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMS) chairman Balvir Singh Tomar and director Anurag Singh Tomar.
The FIR was registered in Jaipur, Rajasthan under Section 420 (cheating) of Indian Penal Code and Sections 4 and 7 of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
The Ayush ministry sought the details of herbal product from Patanjali and also appealed to stop the publicity they are doing in the name of Corona medicine.
