In the wake of clashes and tension along the Line of Actual Control with China, Indian government decided to ban 59 Chinese apps, which include Tik Tok, Shareit and Kwai. Indian government today announced a ban on these 59 Chinese apps and that disallows the usage of these both on mobile and non mobile internet-enables devices.
The Ministry of Information Technology, under section 69A banned these apps in defence of India, security of state and public order, prejudicial to sovereignty. Tik Tok has huge number of followers from India, even a bigger number than that of China and USA. India has more than 611 million downloads while the app crossed the 2 billion mark.
