Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honoured with one of the rarest awards by our neighbouring country Bhutan. PM Modi is awarded Bhutan’s highest civilian award, Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo (Order of the Druk Gyalpo) and this was announced by the PM of Bhutan.
“Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s Narendra Modi name for the highest civilian decoration, Order of the Druk Gyalpo. HM highlighted all the unconditional friendship and support Modiji extended over the years and particularly during pandemic. Much deserving! Congratulations from the people of Bhutan. In all interactions, seen Your Excellency as a great,” wrote the PM’s office Facebook page.
Generally Bhutan doesn’t honour non-citizens and Narendra Modi emerged as the first non-citizen and also Indian to have been rewarded with the highest civilian award. This is really a special award and it further strengthens the bond between India and Bhutan.
But for Modi, this will boost his personal graph even further and definitely he will accept the award with all heart.
