Andhra and Telangana are in complete shock with the sudden demise of the politician and AP Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy. The 50-year-old passed away following a massive heart attack at Hyderabad on Monday morning. The Apollo hospital authorities officially declared that he breathed his last around 8 in the morning.
Goutham Reddy was a fitness enthusiast and as per his daily routine, the Minister was about to head to his gym at 7.30 am today. But he felt uneasiness in his chest and fell on his couch. His security immediately rushed him to the hospital but doctors confirmed that he died on the way to the hospital.
A fitness freak like Goutham, who never missed out on his gym sessions, died all of a sudden and brought back the bitter memories of Puneeth Rajkumar and TV actor Sidharth Shukla. Despite being fit, the trio suffered heart attacks. Meanwhile, experts argued that chronic and extreme exercise training and competing in endurance events can lead to heart damage and rhythm disorders. People with genetic risk factors are said to be especially vulnerable.
Can too much fitness determination and grit hurt our hearts? Not entirely. But long-term endurance exercise puts extreme demands on the cardiovascular system. Meanwhile, after a week-long tour in Dubai, Gautham Reddy returned on Sunday. He attended Dubai Expo 2022. Goutham was the son of former MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. and he was elected from the Atmakur assembly constituency twice in 2014 and 2019 from the Atmakur assembly segment from YSR Congress.
The minister was lauded back when he focused his entire attention on training modules, opportunities and the required resources for mandatory skill development training for Intermediate students. He was informed that the department has already selected 200 training partners and training is being imparted to students through 202 skill development centres.
Born on Nov 2, 1971, Goutham Reddy completed his graduation from Badruka College, Hyderabad, and M.Sc in textiles in the UK. He is survived by his wife Srikeerthi, son Arjun Reddy and daughter Ananya Reddy.
