Financial criminal Vijay Mallya fled India to hide in Britain to avoid cases and punishment. Though the Indian government had been on plans to extradite Vijay Mallya for the last two years, nothing had been fruitful yet.
Amid the narrowing chances for him to avoid being extradited to India, Vijay Mallya came up with a huge offer to banks in India, so as to be free from Enforcement directorate cases against him.
Vijay Mallya’s lawyer is said to have proposed the same in Supreme Court, but the amount he is offering as a settlement package is not revealed officially. Vijay Mallya is reportedly offering 13,960 crore rupees as a settlement package and in return wants the ED to set him free from cases.
There is a non-bailable warrant issued against Vijay Mallya in 2016, for being defaulter with bank loans and also for not attending the court despite receiving several summonses in cases filed by ED.
