India’s first mobile virology and diagnostic laboratory has been launched today in Hyderabad. This lab was developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and ESIC Medical College in a record time of just 15 days and a Hyderabad based doctor was instrumental in this initiative.

Through a video conference, Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Union minister for state Kishan Reddy and Telangana IT minister KTR inaugurated it. This virology lab is capable of testing 1000 to 2000 samples per day.

This lab enables the test services at remote places and can also be used for drug screening, Corona virus diagnostics, vaccine development and others.

On this occasion Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO for developing a virology lab in quick time when the virus is spread all over the nation.
