Even before people could forget the gangrape of a pregnant woman at Repalle railway station, a
B. Pharmacy student was allegedly gangraped and killed in the Sri Satya Sai district. The incident came to light following a complaint by the victim’s father.
Her mother alleged that their daughter’s boyfriend, Sadhik, was behind the murder. However, the culprits tried to change the scene of crime and make it appear like a suicide. In such a situation, the victims’ family and villagers staged a protest at Gorantla police station demanding re-post mortem of the body.
The room in which the body of the victim was found led to several doubts even when the police said that it was a suicide. The victim’s body had several injuries and scars due to which her family members said that nearly 3-4 persons could have sexually assaulted their daughter and then brutally murdered her.
It is also being said that the victim was locked up inside the room for two days during which the crime was committed. They also said that Sadhik deceived their daughter in the name of marriage. They said that their daughter was brave and hence, do not believe that she ended her life.
They demanded action against the culprits under the Disha Act and that they should be hanged to death.
The victim’s parents blamed the police for the murder of their daughter as Sadhik has a criminal background and that he faced similar charges in the past too. Had the police initiated serious action against that boy, our daughter could have been saved, they lamented.
The protestors stay put at the police station following which DSP Ramakanth reached the place and promised do the re-post mortem of the body.
Meanwhile, the TDP leaders, including former MP Nimmala Kishtappa and others, also expressed their solidarity with the victim’s family and promised to be of help till justice was done to the family.
