The Union Government is all set to unleash the next stage of Unlocking – Unlock 3.0. In the third phase, the Centre is working upon a few more relaxations. According to reports, the Unlock 3.0 would see the reopening of Cinema Halls, Gyms, public parks however with strict physical distance guidelines and special guidelines to cinemas.
The Information and Broadcast Ministry (I&B) has recommended to the Union Home Ministry to reopen the Cinemas across the country from August with some strict standard operating procedures.
According to some suggestions made by I&B and Home Ministry officials, theatres will be instructed to have alternate seats in the first row and then the next row to be kept vacant and proceeding in this fashion throughout. But this may take a huge toll on cinemas and their revenues. Even the thorough sanitisation after every show is recommended and placement of sanitizers at various places in theatres for the use of viewers is suggested. Gyms will also be instructed to have strict physical distance measures.
While the Centre announces its relaxations and guidelines for Unlock 3.0, the states have full freedom to continue with restrictions in their interest. It is speculated that several states may not allow opening of cinema theatres given the rapid increase in the number of Covid cases.
While the Unlock 1 was rolled out on June 1st, the Unlock 2 came into effect on July 1st. Meanwhile, the guidelines of Unlock 2.0 are ending on July 31st. So, the Centre is formulating fresh guidelines for the Unlock 3.0
