During the 2014 elections, the BJP and Narendra Modi made tall claims that their government would offer two crore central government jobs every year to the unemployed in the country. Recently the BJP led NDA government has surpassed eight years and in these years, hardly a few thousand vacancies were filled.
Also the unemployment in the country is piling and oppositions especially the TRS have cornered the NDA government over the unemployment ratio which is said to be the highest in nearly four decades. Various media reports and data suggested that there are nearly 16 Lakh vacancies in the central government sector. Finally PM Modi has decided to initiate a recruitment drive very soon.
“PM @narendramodi reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in mission mode in next 1.5 years,” tweeted the official handle of PMO.
So before the 2024 general elections, the PM Modi government aims to recruit 10 Lakh jobs and thereby can gain a huge advantage in the polls. If the Modi government really offers jobs to 10 Lakh people that would be a remarkable achievement.
