In the biggest spike ever since the outbreak of Covid-19, India has reported 66,999 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. Reporting over 65K cases is the first time and this is seriously a matter of concern.
Also the total cases went up to 23,96,638 including the active and discharged. Currently the active cases are 6,53,622 while discharged count is 16,95,982. Also India is improving its testing capacity. 8,30,391 samples were tested yesterday and the total samples tested so far is 2,68,45,688. India is next to USA in the testing capacity.
945 people have died yesterday and this has made India breach into the 47K mark of death. Currently the death tally is 47,033 and India has gone past Great Britain to take the fifth spot of deaths globally.
Telangana has reported 1931 new cases and total cases went up to 86,475 and 665 people have died of the virus in the state.
