Mercedez-Benz Releases Statement After Cyrus Mistry’s Death

Mercedez-Benz India released a statement after Cyrus Mistry’s tragic death due to a car crash in Maharashtra. The carmaker company said it is cooperating with the authorities investigating the car crash that led to the death of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry.

Cyrus Mistry, former chairman of the Tata Group, and his friend Jahangir Pandole were killed on Sunday afternoon when their Mercedez GLC 220d 4MATIC car hit a road divider. Two others in the car Anahita Pandole and her husband Darius Pandole suffered injuries.

Mr. Mistry was cremated in an electric crematorium at Worli in Central Mumbai.

Mercedez Benz India said in a statement, ‘As a responsible brand respecting customer privacy, our team is cooperating with the authorities where possible, and we will provide any clarifications to them directly as required. We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Cyrus Mistry and Jehangir Pandole in the unfortunate road accident. At the same time, we are glad to learn that Anahita Pandole and Darius Pandole are recovering. We wish them a speedy recovery.’

Mercedez Benz India further said it would continue ongoing efforts to increase road safety awareness as a responsible manufacturer while equipping its vehicles with the latest safety features and technologies.

The luxury car was reportedly speeding when the accident took place and the victims were not wearing seat belts. The Mercedez SUV’s traffic record also revealed a series of ffences including jumping he traffic signals and speeding.
