In a sigh of relief, the Corona Virus pandemic has slowed down in India as the cases registered in the past five days have come down.
While the nation registered 66,999 cases on Aug 13, the cases have gradually come down. The daily Covid growth rate dipped from 2.87 percent to 2.08 percent. Past two days, the total Covid cases across the country were below 60k.
On Tuesday, the nation registered 55,079 fresh Covid-19 cases. Interestingly, the total number of recovered on Tuesday is 57,937. Meanwhile, the total tally of Covid cases have breached 2.7 million mark.
However, medical experts say it is too early to come to estimate that Covid has slowed down in the country. They said 2 days out of the last 5 days were holidays – Aug 15 and Aug 16 and opined that this could have resulted in the dip in the number of Covid tests across the country.
Experts opined that about 1.5 lakh Covid tests have come down in the past 5 days compared to regular days and hence asked people to still be cautious and practice strict measures thoroughly.
Interestingly, the recovery rate is increasing. Out of 27 lakh Covid cases, 19.77 lakh have been recovered and the recovery rate stood at 73.18 percent. In the last 6 days, the recovery rate is 90.73 percent whereas the death rate is 1.53 percent.
In the last 24 hours, the active cases have come down by 3,734. This is a positive sign, say experts. While the Covid positivity rate between July 8 and July 14 is 10.03 percent, the Covid positivity rate between July 12 and July 18 is 7.72 percent. However, one has to wait and watch how the situation is going to be in the coming week.
