Pictures and reports of hundreds of Chinese enjoying in a water park, without observing the Covid protocols like wearing masks and maintaining physical distance, that went viral on social media has evoked outrage from netizens and people in various countries across the world.
While the entire world is eagerly waiting for an effective vaccine for Covid-19 to get rid of the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic, Chinese in Wuhan, where the Coronavirus is believed to had originated, seems to no longer fear the spread of the virus. They were found partying hard without any thought of Covid. The people came out in large numbers as the water parks gave special discounts during the pandemic. The large number of people moving closely with each other, drew the attention of the world, and many took objection to it.
Businesses across the world were badly affected due to the virus. To breathe life into the dull trade, managements of some shops are trying to offer freebies too.
A Chinese media organisation reported that the people had fun and frolic with stage dances and other entertainment in the water park. However, the officials in Hubei province, where Wuhan is located, said they had relaxed rules because there were no positive cases recorded. The Hubei officials also announced free entry to 400 tourist spots to provide support to the economic sector.
Meanwhile, the WHO warned that there were chances of a second wave of the virus if proper precautionary measures were not followed.
It was China which reported about the Coronavirus first in December, 2019. Then the Chinese observed 3-month lockdown. With people from Wuhan travelling to other places and people from those places going elsewhere, the virus spread rapidly and in no time, more than 200 countries declared lockdown and began imposing several restrictions.
