Get Ready To Pay For Twitter ‘Blue Tick’

Published by

The ‘Blue Tick’ next to the profile name in Twitter is essentially a verified handle and mostly celebrities go for the verification process. However in the recent past the ‘Blue – Tick’ have become common and there were reports that some people were deliberately denied the ‘Blue – Tick’ due to some laws and policies of Twitter (Before Musk).

And ever since Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken over Twitter, he has been doing a lot of changes and the issue of ‘Blue – Tick’ has also come to his notice. On the ‘Blue – Tick’ Musk said that they will revise the process of verification and in a shocker we hear that Twitter will be charging people for the ‘Blue – Tick.’

From US tech portals the news is that Twitter might charge $20 (Rs 1600+) per month from the verified handles. The minor twist is the ‘Blue – Tick’ issue is it will be limited to those who subscribe (Blue Members) and they can have features like Edit their tweets or undo tweets. The current users who have ‘Blue – Tick’ will have 90 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue and if they fail to do so, they are likely to lose the ‘Blue – Tick.’

Reports suggest that Twitter engineers are given a deadline to revamp the Twitter verification process. November 7th is the deadline set by Musk for the Twitter engineers and he is contemplating to fire the engineers if they fail to come up with a new verification process.

Last week Musk acquired Twitter completely and he did not spare the CEO Parag Agarwal and other top executives from firing. Musk is fully occupied with Twitter affairs and we might hear and see more changes happening in the social media giant.
