Actor-turned-politician Udayanidhi Stalin is set to take oath as the Tamil Nadu cabinet minister today. He is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. 45-year-old Udayanidhi is a renowned actor and producer. He represents the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency as an MLA.
According to the reports, Udayanidhi will be given portfolios like youth welfare, sports development, and special programme implementation.
He was supposed to swear in as the cabinet minister long ago. But his film commitments delayed it. He also happens to be the DMK’s youth wing secretary.
Announcing Stalin’s promotion as a cabinet minister, the Government of Tamil Nadu released an official press note. “The honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has recommended to the honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu to induct Thiru Udayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni assembly constituency (no.19), in the council of ministers. The honourable governor has approved the recommendation,” the note read.
“The swearing-in-ceremony will be held on December 14, 2022, at 09:30 AM at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Chennai,” the note further added.
