In a huge botch-up, airline Go First had forgotten more than 50 passengers in a bus on the tarmac. The passengers were taken in four buses to the aircraft. The Go First plane took off from New Delhi to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 6.30 am on Monday even as 55 passengers were still in one of the buses.
The irate passengers took to Twitter to complain about the issue tagging the airline, civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office. The passengers called it the ‘most horrifying experience’.
Soon the aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked airline for a report. The passengers were left out even when they had their boarding passes and their baggage was checked in for the G8 116 flight of the airline.
Responding to the tweets, Go First airways said: “We regret the inconvenience caused.” Reportedly, the passengers were accommodated on a flight that left after four hours, at 10 am. The DGCA said that it had asked for a report from the airline and that appropriate action would be taken.
Several passengers tweeted about the negligence of the airline. In the last few weeks, airlines have faced scrutiny over a range of infractions, making the DGCA busy with complaints and inquiries. On November 26, the pilots and crew of Air India flight from New York to Delhi have been grounded after one of the passengers, in an inebriated condition, urinated on a woman seated in the business class. There were reports of fights on flights too.
