In a shocking incident that took place in Delhi, a 40-year-old teacher in a government school located in the New Ashok Nagar area of east Delhi has been accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.
The victim is an eight-year-old girl who was in Class 3 at the time of the incident. The sports teacher had been working at the school since 2016 and was taken into custody by the police for questioning on Wednesday.
The assault took place last week when the teacher reportedly lured the young girl to a secluded location inside the school, where he sexually assaulted her. The matter came to light after the child’s mother noticed a change in her behavior and asked her about it. The child then narrated the horrifying incident to her mother, who immediately approached the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (east), Amrutha Guguloth, confirmed that a team was sent to the school after they received a call regarding the incident. The young girl has received counseling and has been medically examined. A case has been registered against the accused teacher under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
This news has sent shockwaves throughout the city, and parents of students at the school are now deeply concerned about the safety of their children. The incident highlights the need for stricter measures to be put in place to ensure the safety of children in schools, and for perpetrators of such heinous crimes to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
It is heartbreaking to think about the trauma that the young girl has been through and the lifelong impact that this experience may have on her. It is imperative that justice is served in this case, and that steps are taken to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future. The news of this incident serves as a wake-up call for all schools to re-examine their safety policies and to take all necessary measures to protect the children in their care.
